Metal Gear Solid 5 PS4 release date has been moved to an October release date from a previous "early 2015" release.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain made its first appearance on E3 2014 in a 30-minute walkthrough mission. Also revealed as the voice behind the main character Snake is Kiefer Sutherland of "24" fame. This immediately gained positive feedback among fans due to its critical details and clarity of graphics.
Marty Sliva for IGN wrote, "Phantom Pain is an immediately stunning game. The scope of the mountainous landscape littered with canyons, livestock, villages, and creeks is staggering. Riding your horse across the plains brought shades of Red Dead Redemption, even down to the way the music would swell as you neared a dangerous area."
Lucy O'Brien from IGN also said, "A sense of playfulness makes a welcome return. While Ground Zeroes was a great game, it went for a much heavier tone than in previous installments. But fultoning animals and waddling around in your tricked out cardboard box in The Phantom Pain is pure comedy, while incidental animations like your horse just casually taking a crap suggest Kojima's toilet humor is back with a welcome (depending on who you talk to) vengeance."
But fans had to wait until next year as the developers announced that the release date was in "early 2015".
Good news for the followers of the franchise, the Metal Gear Solid 5 release date has now been officially announced at Gamescon 2014 by mastermind Hideo Kojima himself. It is now slated to release in October of this year.
Keith Stuart, video games editor, cleared that an article from Loadthegame.com reported that the game was to be released "early 2015" when Kojima previously announced that it was to come out exactly "on March 17", explaining the error calling it a "subbing mistake". Stuart said he had originally placed the date as a placeholder and forgot to change it as it went live.
Metal Gear Solid 5 release date is now launching in October on PS4, PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360
