Newly Leaked Apple iPhone 6 Photos Are Probably Fake

| By

Rumors about the new iPhone 6 have flooded the Internet. Some believe that the smartphone will be available as early as June and have new features, such as a new sapphire display. Now, though, new photos may reveal exactly what the iPhone 6 may look like--or not.

A trio of blurry photos were "leaked" onto the Web the other day, purportedly showing Apple's new iPhone 6 chassis. They seemed to reveal rounded corners and a thin design that matched the current next-generation iPad lineup, according to Apple Insider. The pictures themselves were let loose by a Twitter user and even show the inside of the case, revealing ribbons and other components, according to TechCrunch. The pictures also reveal a large hole that's presumably for a rear-facing camera. There's also a pill-shaped cutout next to the camera port that could potentially house a flash, according to Apple Insider.

Yet all of these photos are fakes. In fact, they're apparently advanced renders and at least one Reddit user argues that they're the work of Martin Hajek, a man known for his photorealistic device render work, according to TechCrunch. While these photos are fake, though, some users actually like the "redesign" that's being shown. What the phone actually looks like, though, will have to wait until Apple unveils it.

There are, however, some rumors about what might be in store. It's likely that the new phone will feature the next-generation A8 mobile processor, according to DigiTimes. It's also likely that the iPhone 6 will have two screen sizes-a 4.7 or 4.8-inch and a 5.5-inch, according to IBTimes.

It's likely that the iPhone 6 will be released in June, or possibly even earlier. What is known is that the phone will at least make an appearance some time in 2014. For the moment, though, we'll just have to wait and see what Apple has in store.
