Facebook users now have the option to make a video about their lives on the social media platform public.
The videos went live past 12 p.m. Tuesday and will only be on the site for a month unless users wish to put them on their timelines for their Facebook friends to see CNN reported.
Users will get either an individualized video, an assortment of photos, or a thank you card based on the amount of material they have on their profile CNN reported.
Those who have videos with content they do not want to make public can use Facebook's Edit Your Movie icon to limit the number of people who see the media.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg founded the social media platform in 2004.
"People often ask if I always knew that Facebook would become what it is today. No way," Zuckerberg said in a blog entry on the site CNN reported.
"I remember getting pizza with my friends one night in college shortly after opening Facebook. I told them I was excited to help connect our school community, but one day someone needed to connect the whole world," Zuckerberg said in the post CNN reported.
"It's been amazing to see how all of you have used our tools to build a real community. You've shared the happy moments and the painful ones," Zuckerberg said in the post CNN reported.
Facebook will no longer have sponsored stores come April 9 after the social media platform conceded to fund $20 million in a class action lawsuit that reportedly stated the advertisements intruded upon users lives according to information from Consumer Affairs.
The stories utilized users names, photos and profiles according to information from Consumer Affairs.
Facebook recently added videos that play when a user comes across them on a page, and stop when a user closes goes further down a page Facebook said in a statement in January.
