Following a series of controversial heated words between Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and former frontman Tom DeLonge, the band is now moving forward with not only a new frontman but also with a new album.
After taking over DeLonge's spot as the new Blink 182 frontman, Matt Skiba has reportedly contributed amazing twists for the band's new album.
In an interview with NME, Travis Barker gamely shared the band's progress as he brags about their new member.
"Matt's killing it," Barker said of Skiba's contributions on their new album. "He's fun to play with and write with. We're just getting started but I think we've got like four or five songs right now that I'm really, really happy with."
And while many fans are worried of how Matt Skiba will drastically change the sound of Blink 182, Barker assured fans that with their talents, everything is "cool."
"They sound different but still the same," he told Loud Wire. "Obviously, it's Matt Skiba singing so there's hints of Alkaline Trio, or at least Matt's contributions to Alkaline Trio, mixed with my drumming and Mark's voice and stuff. It's really cool and I really love what we've done so far."
Continuing with the progress of the new Blink 182 album, Travis Barker revealed that they are working non-stop for their first record without Tom DeLonge.
"The goal here is to come up with an album and just write," he added. "We don't put a limit on how many songs we're gonna write. [We just] write a bunch of songs and when we feel like there's an album ready, there's an album ready. You know, no pressure, no deadlines."
