Two-year-old Prince George will go to the Westacre Montessori School Nursery in Norfolk.
"We are looking forward to welcoming George to our nursery, where he will get the same special experience as all of our children," Kensington Palace quoted the nursery according to Yahoo News.
The nursery is close to Anmer Hall, Sandringham estate, Kate Middleton and Prince William's home. It is located in a private road which would please the prince's parents.
Westacre Montesorri School was rated "good" by Ofsted in June. Tuition costs £5.50 ($8.53) per hour or £33 ($51.15) per day according to BBC News.
The educational background of the royal family is quite varied. The Queen was homeschooled, and taken on educational trips by her nannie, Crawfie.
Prince Charles' nursery was a palace room containing a blackboard, a desk and a governess; while Prince William was exposed to children of his own age at Mrs Mynors' School.
By going to a nursery, Prince George is following the steps of Princess Eugenie who went to Winkfield Montessori School when she was two years old in 1992 according to a report by Daily Mail.
Montessori schools are known for teaching children to take responsibility for their own learning. Maria Montessori, Italy's first female professor, developed the child-centered approach in 1900s.
"Going to nursery will be a great move for Prince George. He'll be just over two and a half when he starts and at that age it's all about free play - sand and water, dressing up, painting and making things, just getting stuck in and getting messy," Claire Schofield, director of membership, policy and communications at National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) said.
Prince George may be joined by the Duke and Duchess at the nursery before classes start so they can get to know the teachers, staff and even the environment.
