Charlie Hunnam Talks About Possible Appearance In 'Sons Of Anarchy' Prequel, Spin-off

Talks of having a prequel for "Sons of Anarchy," - a TV show starring Charlie Hunnam as one of its main casts - is on the works has been circulating lately.

Regarding this, the actor is still weighing in on his possible involvement in the critically-acclaimed series.

In an interview with Men's Journal, the actor appeared non-committal when asked whether he has any interest to join the spin-off of the popular crime-drama series. He has also showed some details on his working relationship with Kurt Sutter, the showrunner of the series.

"I'm not sure when it would happen though, he's got another TV show he's working on," the star, who also starred in "Pacific Rim," answered. "I don't know if he needs me as a lead actor on that too."

"Kurt and I never blasted each other in the face, but I'll say it got close," he mused. "There has been security rushing onto set and pulling us apart before."

Charlie Hunnam made a confession that he was indeed quite shocked to learn that his character Jax Teller would be killed off in the hit TV series shown in FX, a fact that may also contribute to his decision to take part in the prequel of "Sons of Anarchy."

"Kurt and I had a conversation in the beginning of the final season," he explained. "He (Sutter) was thinking that Jax would probably live through it and I was sort of with him."

"I was operating under that assumption for the whole season," the English actor said. He also added that he is very much open to the fact that his character would be eventually killed towards the season finale. "At the end of it we both realized that it would have been more tragic to let him live after what he had gone through. In my heart Jax has found peace."

In a report by Deadline, Kurt Sutter has confirmed that there is indeed a "Sons of Anarchy" prequel in the pipeline but he is not sure if Charlie Hunnam will be a part of it.

"At some point I do have plans to hopefully do the prequel, which I do see as a one-off 10- or 12-episode thing where we begin in Nam and see John Teller and Piney and see how that relationship got created," the 55-year-old director-producer shared.
