"Heroes Reborn," while initially pegged for just one season, could reportedly last one more season according to reports.
However, others claimed that it could be getting the axe from NBC because of its dismal performance in ratings.
It started off with a fairly decent 2.0 rating in the adult 18-49 range, reportedly thanks to the massive following its cult classic predecessor acquired during its run half a decade ago.
However, the "Heroes" name didn't seem to help the reboot gain more popularity. Some reviews even noted its connection to the original series an unfortunate thing.
Nevertheless, show creator Tim Kring is reportedly still positive for a "Heroes Reborn" season 2 to happen.
TV By The Numers, however, noted the show as a wildcard. The site isn't entirely sure if the new version of the said show could still sustain until another season.
"After holding at 1.1 in the two prior weeks, and barely keeping likely renewal status in the index, the show dipped to 1.0 last week," the article noted.
The report also believed that the series' fate is "now down to a tossup, and headed in the wrong direction," noting that it's "barely keeping likely renewal status in the index."
Up for renewal or not, the series still seems to be getting international attention.
UK's channel has picked up the series for airing soon. According to Blacknet, "Heroes Reborn" will be shown sometime in 2016.
While "Heroes Reborn" season 2 may or may not happen, Tim Kring assured the remaining fans of the show that he's "still positive" that the show will still continue on for one more season.
Bustle also noted that calling the series an "event series" gives it the freedom to renew for one more season or let go of the superhero costume recently.
