"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is currently on break but when it comes back Celeb Dirty Laundry confirmed that the show will now air on Friday instead of its usual Thursday time slot.
While The CW has yet to release an explanation about the decision to move "The Vampire Diaries" in another time slot, many believed that it was because the show's rating is already suffering following the exit of Nina Dobrev.
And apparently, the showrunners have also tapped a Nina Dobrev look-alike to help save the show from getting cancelled.
Fans will reportedly see the introduction of a new character when season 7 returns next year.
Leslie-Anne Huff, who shares striking resemblance to Nina Dobrev has reportedly been added to the casting line up.
And while many speculated that this move is to help regain the high ratings the show once had, TV Line reported that hiring a Nina Dobrev look-alike was never the intention.
"That's definitely just a coincidence," executive producer Caroline Dries explained. "We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, 'I think she looks exactly like Nina.' I was convinced otherwise."
"I actually haven't met her yet in person, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person," Dries further said. "She's a great actress, and she's perfect for the role... We'll get to see her present-day story and then everything will click when you see her in the future."
In fact the show has yet to be included in the latest report of The Hollywood Reporter for the shows which are going to be renewed for another season.
Apparently, Nina Dobrev was pissed off with Ian Somerhalder for using her name to bring viewers back into watching the show again, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.
