Following the successful launch of the remastered "God Of War" version for the latest gaming consoles, fans have been asking about the possibility of a fourth installment.
While Sony Entertainment has yet to reveal an official release date to the gaming title, series writer Cory Borlog was able to talk to IGN as reported by Game Rant, and apparently the name of Kratos was mentioned in the upcoming "God of War 4" game.
"IGN spoke with Barlog about the project and he indicated that the game is far out from release, teasing that we'd learn more about it in a 'year or two,'" the report stated hinting the "God Of War 4" release date. "Interestingly enough, the property and the name Kratos popped up during Sony's Project Morpheus VR panel today as well where Sony Computer Entertainment boss Shuhei Yoshida talked about a first-person demo he tried where the player was Kratos."
Over at PlayStation Blog, Borlog also hinted more details about the Greek mythlogy-theme game.
And while he did not speak of the release date, Cross Map noted that now that the remastered "GOW" version has been launched, Sony will have its eyes on the fourth sequel.
"Imagine a game like that [God of War 3] came out on PS4, right. Well, thanks to the fine folks at SCEA (or Santa Monica Studio) we do not have to imagine anymore because God of War III Remastered is here," Barlog said a statement.
The success of the remastered version has reportedly made the "God of War 4" release date possible.
"Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4," he added. "People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
