Zooey Deschanel is taking a maternity leave after giving birth to her first baby, Elsie Otter.
While shooting the fifth season of "New Girl," Deschanel bonded with her temporary replacement in the show - Megan Fox.
And what best way to connect with someone who just had a baby than to talk about babies! Megan Fox, who has two children of her own, admired Zooey Deschanel's knowledge on parenting.
We've talked a lot about how when you have a new baby that's all you talk about," Megan Fox told ET. "We've talked about the birthing process and diapers and things like that. I didn't give her any advice! She's read every book already."
"There's nothing I can teach her," the "Transformers" star added.
Meanwhile, Zooey Deschanel has just as much admiration for Megan Fox, revealing that she now understood why people who have babies always gush about them.
"She seems like a really good mom," Deschanel said of Fox. "It's fun to talk about kids once you have them."
"I think when you don't have kids you're like, 'Why are they talking about their kids so much?'" Deschanel added. "And then when you do have one you're like, 'All I want to do is talk about my kid!'"
Zooey Deschanel added that being a mother to her baby daughter, Elsie Otter is "the best."
"It's so wonderful. I'm in love with my baby," Zooey Deschanel gushed.
A few months ago, Zooey Deschanel surprised the whole world with the announcement of her marriage to Jacob Penechik along with the birth of her baby daughter.
"I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl," the couple's rep announced in August.

Zooey Deschanel will be absent in a few episodes of "New Girl" Season 5 as she goes on maternity leave. She will be temporarily replaced by Megan Fox, who will play the role of Reagan, "a gorgeous straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town on business and shakes things up in the loft," Entertainment Weekly reported.
