There are reports that Mariah Carey has joined "Empire" season 2 cast as a guest star.
Problem is the Fox TV series already aired ten episodes and the singer is yet to show up.
Is she really part of the show?
Looks like it will not happen. Series creator Danny Strong was asked that very question and his answer is not something fans of the multi-Grammy award winner will like.
"I have no idea," he told E! Online when asked when will they feature Mariah Carey in "Empire."
"All these names that get floated and talked about, it's often literally just some preliminary conversation that on any normal TV show would not be spoken about publicly because it's not going to happen. So for this show, it's just endless names I read about that there's really no deal in place or even storyline in place. It happens over and over and over again."
News of Mariah Carey joining "Empire" season 2 cast first surfaced in August this year and it was broken to the public by co-creator Lee Daniels.
"Watch her on 'Empire' you guys. She's coming on 'Empire,' " said Daniels back in August during the inauguration of Mariah Carey's star in Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Jussie Smollett, who plays Lucius' gay son Jamal, added fuel to the fire when he released a statement in November.
"That rumor is true," he told People. "That makes me feel so good to say that rumor is true."
"Empire" season 2 cast has been graced by big music stars. The latest of them is Alicia Keys who is in a multi-episode arc. Other musicians that already appeared in the show are Da Brat, Ludacris, Becky G, Jason Derulo, and more.
To people waiting for Mariah Carey in "Empire" season 2, do not get your hopes up high that much. If ever, there still season three.
