MTV on Monday sent a hundred images on social media to "Teen Wolf" fans telling them that it carries significant clues for the show's Season 5B, which will premiere on Jan. 5, 2016.
"Teen Wolf's" official Twitter account posted on Monday, confirming the image held hints about the upcoming Season 5B: "You guys are SO CLOSE. Look closely-we hid a few clues about what's coming this season in the painting #ToHellAndBack"
And indeed, although there were no instructions given, the 100 images revealed to be part of a larger pictures, a painting that displays death and carnage, where we see a pile of bodies-dead and alive. The painting, accordingly, displayed resemblances of major characters and their fate, some returning villains and other clues.
Hypable, in its report, highlighted the important parts and clues it has spotted, including first: Scott's (Tyler Posey), who is alive, and trying to get out of the pile of bodies and reaching out his hand. Second, Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) is situated beside his father who is unconscious (or dead). Stiles is next to Donovan (Ashton Moio) who has a bar pierced through his chest and Malia Tate (Shelley Hennig) who is being choked by a woman.
On the other side of the painting is Kira Yukimura (Arden Cho), who has pierced her katana to a fox, which represented her fox spirit. Beside her is Lydia Martin (Holland Roden), wearing her Eichen House garb and who looks like she is in a really bad situation. While Liam Dunbar (Dylan Sprayberry) has massive slashes across his chest.
One image, however, that really caught the attention of fans is a skeleton that they speculate is Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) seen to be holding a necklace believed to be the Argent necklace (which may be a reference to the Beast du Gevaudan).
Some villains from the past are also seen like the nogitsune, Darach whose head is pinned to a stick, the Dread Doctors (and a fourth Dread Doctor with a third eye, which Hypable speculates is Valack's eye that the doctors used to create a fourth member), the Sluagh, the oni, and Belasko with his glowing claws.
Enstarz also highlighted an image of three dead Native Americans, which will be one of "Teen Wolf" Season 5B highlights following Kira's Southwestern adventures. It also noted that this season will introduce the skin walkers.
One of the more unfamiliar symbols spotted in the painting, which fans are talking about, is a seven point star or a septagram, known to be a pagan symbol.
