"Chicago Fire" Season 4 is taking a short hiatus after Tuesday's winter finale but before it went to a break, the series was already renewed for a fifth season; and in a recent interview, Eamonn Walker talked about what's in store for his character, Wallace Boden.
Ecumenical News, in its report, confirmed that fans can rejoice as "Chicago Fire" is renewed for another season and highlighted that one of the things to anticipate for the new season is the fate of Eamonn Walker's Wallace Boden who, in the previous episodes, was seen to be arrested for the scandal he was involved in and was replaced by Patterson (guest star Brian White).
In an interview with TV Guide, Eamonn Walker shared that Chief Boden, consequent to everything that is happening to him, is desperate and is at his most vulnerable.
"He's in a slow meltdown. Boden is the lowest he's ever been," Walker told TV Guide. "And he gets to the point where he says, 'I'm going to protect my family now.' This is a personal thing. You get to see this man at his most vulnerable. He can't come through this on his own. He needs the firehouse family to [rely] upon, and he needs a wife."
Walker added that Chief Boden's problems, unfortunately, continue to put a strain on his marriage and relationship but it's only because he is under pressure and he is stressed. And according to Walker, it's only normal that the first to experience his manifestations of stress is his family, because you would expect your family to love you no matter what.
Will Chief Boden's situation continue to subsist throughout this season? Eamonn Walker said "there will be a resolution at the end of the night" and that Boden will learn his lesson and become a "changed" man.
"We got used to Boden being the top of the food chain-although he wasn't, because the hierarchy was obviously in place," Walker said. "But this [teaches] him a lesson to rely on his friends and his fellow firefighters much more. How it will actually manifest is, I think, is it's still a great team of people, full of mavericks who come up with wonderful ideas of how to get through any difficult situation. But I think what's going to happen is it's going to convince [Boden] that he was right, that you need a family atmosphere."
