The Google app for iOS update gives iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users more functionality.

Updated with 3D Touch support, Apple's pressure-sensitive multi-touch technology, users can hard press on the Google app's icon to get shortcuts for common activities like image search, text search and voice search.

With the update, iPAd users have also the Slide Over and Split View functions. Now, apps can be put side by side for efficiency.

The Slide Over can be used on iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 2 or later version according to App Advice, while Split View can be used on iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 4.

The latest update of Google app for iOS also shows holiday hours and gives information about what time of the day is the busiest for a particular local business place. Hopefully, it will enable visitors to avoid crowds in time for the holidays.

Update of Google for iOS is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 8.0 or later.

Slash Gear lists other apps that added support for 3D Touch including Facebook, Instagram, Skype, Tumblr and many more.

The update also has other changes that are not just limited to the latest iPhone models.

It also includes Play Movies & TV update adding in-app support for AirPlay playback to Apple TVs according to 9To5Google. Users can now "start a video in the Play Movies & TV app, AirPlay it to your Apple TV, and continue using your iOS device as normal."

Cellular streaming from content of Google Play Movies and TV library is now also supported. Google has also introduced "Recommended by Play," a part of the app that recommends movies based on your viewing history. The wish list feature allows you to save a movie you can revisit later.

Google for iOS update and Google Play Movies & TV app is available on the App Store for free.
