Twin polar bears in Germany lifted their eyes to give the world an initial look NBC News reported Wednesday.

The bears' came into the world 33 days ago, and are not going near their father since they are not yet able to function and mingle with the rest of society RTT News reported.

The bears' seven year old mother in bear years Giovanna, has done well since she gave birth at the Munich Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, Germany NBC News reported.

Insiders were worried that Giovanna would not be able to handle her duties which could have hurt the 400 grams bears when they were born NBC News reported.

The baby bears popped out Dec. 9, and were recorded on three cameras situated on the inside of the bears surroundings NBC News reported.

"Polar bears are quite small at birth and are at more risk of dying in the first weeks than nearly any other mammal," biologist Beatrix Koehler told NBC News.

"We closely monitored whether she warmed the two cubs adequately, had enough milk and whether the little ones found the feeding source immediately," Koehler told NBC News. "All of them did very well." Koehler told NBC News. Koehler has made a living at the Munich Zoo for 30 years.

"The two rascals now even voice their anger with very loud screaming when they fight over the milk source or step on each other's heads," Koehler added.

The bears have not been named as zoo officials do not know whether the bears are male or female NBC News reported.

"We cannot enter the compound because the three cannot be disturbed, so veterinarians will not be able to examine the two before they go outside for the first time, most likely in March," Christiane Reiss a spokeswoman at the zoo told NBC News.
