"X-Men Apocalypse" will be dropping its first official trailer on December 18 attached to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and one of the fans' most anticipated parts is the appearance of a new character to the movie, Warren Worthington III aka Angel to be played by British actor Ben Hardy.
As previously reported, X-Men member Angel will be one of the mutants who will be made evil by the villainous Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and who will form part of the antagonist's Four Horsemen, where Angel will be joining Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner).
A shocking revelation, however, was reported by Cinema Blend related to a promo poster for "Xmen-Apocalypse" during the Brazilian Comic Con, where Angel is seen not with his feathery wings but with a brown tone and metallic wings, which according to Cinema Blend, resembles to that of Archangel. (Angel, in the comics, is transformed into Archangel by Apocalypse.) The report also highlighted that Ben Hardy is referred to as Angel and Archangel in the film so the transformation is certainly happening.
Movie Pilot, in its report, said that for "X-Men: Apocalypse," fans would expect a "darker take" on Angel's character as promised by the film's director, Bryan Singer.
"Ben Hardy is Angel-I shall confirm it to you! But he's not a very nice Angel! And that's all I'll say," Bryan Singer previously said.
This concretizes the speculations that Angel will, indeed, transform into Archangel in "X-Men: Apocalypse" and it being faithful to the comics. Because in the comics, when Angel at a point had gone to dark path, he ended up having his organic wings amputated and was almost killed in an explosion. Apocalypse was the one who rescued him and gave him new metallic wings, in exchange of his servitude as a member of the Horsemen.
Eventually, Archangel snapped out of Apocalypse's mental control when he thought he has killed his friend, Iceman.
