While "How To Train Your Dragon 3" is still far from its release date, fans are interested to find out what to expect about its plot.
The story between Hiccup and his fondness of the dragons became a surprise success for DreamWorks and despite the previous setbacks, the studio is reportedly actively gearing up to push through with the third sequel.
And as for its plot, "How to Train Your Dragon 3" will reportedly take place three years following the events of the second movie.
According to Movie News Guide the story is definitely going to be a "tearjerker," with Hiccup and Toothless embark on what could be their final adventure as a team.
While there is no evidence to its comparison, Latinos Health claimed that "How to Train Your Dragon 3" closely resembles that of "Toy Story 3's" plot
Fans will reportedly get the same feeling they got from "Toy Story 3," where Woody and Buzz deal with Andy becoming a grown up.
"How to Train Your Dragon 3's" plot will reportedly see less of Hiccup and focus more on Toothless and his struggles in becoming an independent dragon.
Latinos Health added that the sequel will somehow end where the original book reportedly began.
"We are gonna take the story to where the books begin, which is Hiccup as an adult reflecting back on a time where there were dragons, suggesting that the dragons will in some way go away. Why and could they come back and the mystery of what all that is will be saved for the actual story," writer-director Dean DeBlois said.
Dean DeBlois on the other hand, claimed that "How to Train Your Dragon 3" could also feature the story of Drago Bludvist, which never appeared in the first two films.
"How to Train Your Dragon 3" was previously slated for June 17, 2016 release date, but it was pushed back to June 29, 2018.
Apparently, DreamWorks is not going to take its chances by going head to head with Pixar's "Finding Dory," Screen Rant reported.
