Most Kobe Bryant news around are mostly related to his retirement.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar announced two weeks ago through a poem this season will be his last.
While most people and NBA teams are already paying tribute to the five-time champion, a team outside the United States of America is not giving up on him just yet. This team is something Kobe Bryant is very familiar with.
Italian team Viola Reggio Calabria has sent Kobe Bryant a letter asking him to play for them. This is the same team the Black Mamba watched when he was still a child when his father Joe was still playing in Europe.
The letter, which comes with Bryant's photo in Viola's shirt, reads (via TMZ):
"Dear child of Reggio Calabria, fantastic Kobe, on this most beautiful stretch of land that is full of affection for you we close our eyes and dream."
"There will always be a home for you at this great club on the Straits of Messina. Our dream might be too big but maybe it is the same dream you unknowingly had as that 8-year-old boy in the picture."
"We want you to come home, to wear our colours, to represent our city, just as your father did before you. There is a black and orange family waiting for you, with the same name on the back: 'Bryant.'"
"A warm hug, dear Kobe, our great basketball legend."
It is hard to envision a Kobe Bryant news that says he will continue playing. In his poem, he says he is walking away from the game because his body cannot take it anymore.
There are still many speculations about what the Los Angeles Lakers legend will do next once he walked out of the game. There were suggestions he will play for Phil Jackson in New York Knicks but refuted this by saying he is a "Laker forever." There were also rumors he will play for China where he is immensely loved by people.
