‘Agent Carter’ Season 2 Gives Way To State Of The Union Address, Premiere Pushed To Jan. 19

Fans will have to wait a little longer for Peggy's return as President Obama's State of the Union address pushed back the "Agent Carter" season 2 premiere.

According to ABC, the Hayley Atwell starrer will begin its second season with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 19 9|8c.

Just as in the first season, "Agent Carter" will air during the mid-season break of "Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." That series will reportedly continue with its third season on March 8.

As Newsrama noted, the series was supposed to return for season 2 on Jan. 5. But even Peggy has to make way for the commander-in-chief. With President Obama's annual State of the Union address scheduled on Jan. 12, ABC reportedly decided to move the premiere a few weeks later.

Per the website, the delayed premiere was "to avoid a one week gap in episodes."

Unfortunately, the delay also affects "Agent Carter" fans across the pond.

FOX UK reportedly told TVWise that they'll be following ABC's lead in delaying the season 2 premiere. Instead of Jan 17, the show will now premiere a week later on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m.

As Franchise Herald previously reported, "Agent Carter" season 2 will bring Peggy and the rest of the cast to Los Angeles. The SSR Agent will have to deal with atomic age threats, as well as old and new foes.

Peggy will have old friends on her side though. Season 2's official synopsis even teased a new love for her in the City of Angels.

Last week, a new poster debuted for "Agent Carter" season 2 (as seen below) which puts Peggy in her iconic blue dress/red hat outfit. It also shows her holding a pair of sunglasses and in "a dark and moody visual style befitting a noir scenario," according to IGN.
