There have been rumors coming out that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are on the verge of breaking up.
However, they couldn't do so because of their daughter.
"They're amicable in front of Esmeralda," an insider revealed to OK! Magazine. "But once she's tucked into bed, the tensions surface. They spend all their time either arguing or in complete silence. It's not pretty."
The 35-year-old actor and the 41-year-old actress aren't very vocal when it comes to their relationship because they wanted to protect their privacy.
Surprisingly, the Hollywood heartthrob finally opened up about his girlfriend and their baby girl during an interview with Hello!
"This will be our first Christmas where [Esmeralda is] sort of taking it all in, so that's exciting," Gosling said. However, there's one thing about the holidays that the actor isn't much thrilled about - and that is his mother's choice of music.
"She's obsessed with the Hanson Christmas album! No disrespect to Hanson, they're very talented kids, but I think I've heard that record enough," he said. "I'm sure it will be on a loop this Christmas as well." Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are both very family-oriented so that could be a factor to having a strong relationship.
"The Notebook" star is very much in love with their baby Esmeralda Amada and he also feels the same for his girlfriend.
"I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," Gosling said.
He was also asked by the magazine what qualities he looks for in a woman.
"That she's Eva Mendes. There's nothing else I'm looking for," he replied.
Based on what Ryan said during the interview, there's no need for Eva to worry about their relationship. There were reports that she's pressuring her boyfriend to marry her as soon as possible.
"[They've] talked about getting married for well over two years, before she got pregnant!" an insider told OK! Magazine.
"It's getting ridiculous and she's told him she's not sure about their future together if he hasn't got a ring on her finger over Christmas," their source added.
The website reported that a wedding between Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes may not happen anytime soon because the actor is terrified of marriage.
Since the couple is very secretive, fans may just be surprised one day to find out that the Hollywood A-listers are already hitched.
