The upcoming episode of "Chicago Fire" Season 4 entitled "Short and Fat" will see Chief Boden (Eammon Walker) as he continues to work on clearing his name from a scandal he was involved in.
In the previous episode, "When Tortoises Fly," Chief Boden, in an effort to clear his name, confronted Maddox (guest star Mark Hengst), whom he believes is behind the accusations against him. Boden, however, still faces issues with his female neighbor who was determined to ruin Boden's reputation. Episode 9, accordingly, will show the consequences of Boden's issues with his neighbor.
"Chicago Fire" Season 4 Episode 9, "Short and Fat," will also see a crossover with "Chicago PD" with Officer Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Officer Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) as they try to help out Chief Boden in solving his case.
And while Chief Boden is still trying to clear out his name, Patterson (guest star Brian White) will be filling in the position of Boden.
Meanwhile, still trying to help Boden, Severide (Taylor Kinney) may have learned where Serena (guest star Ilfenesh Hadera) is hiding and Severide would try his best to find Serena with the help of Jamie (Rachel Nichols).
The promo trailer for Episode 9 also featured other firefighters of Firehouse 51 facing a dangerous task as they as a truck that contains highly combustible liquid breaks down in the middle of a street and they have to prevent it from blowing up.

When Severide learns of the potential whereabouts of Serena, 'Chicago PD's' Officer Atwater and Officer Ruzek head to Lake Carlyle to try and uncover additional clues on Boden's case. Meanwhile, Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Otis (Yuri Sardarov) give Freddie (guest star Ralph Rodriguez) a job that keeps him close by and Jimmy (Steven R. McQueen) and Chili (Dora Madison) elicit more attention than either bargained for, causing some friction between them."
