It's been two months following the scene when Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) visited 2015 in "Back to the Future 2," featuring shoes that come equipt with power lace and hover board.
Now, fans are reportedly asking for a "Back to the Future 4" sequel.
And while Universal Pictures has yet to comment on the rumored film or its release date, Christopher Lloyd, who played the iconic character Doctor Emmet Brown, has already expressed his desire to return and film a fourth "Back to the Future" movie.
The 77-year-old veteran actor shared his thoughts in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, claiming that he'll love to become "Doc" again.
"I would love to do Doc again, no question," the actor exclaimed. "[But] it's tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three."
But while it would be interesting to see "Back to the Future 4" in the big screen again, it would not be easy for the producers to come up with a new idea involving the original stars.
The third and last film, which was released back in 1990 will significantly show how the stars have aged.
"So it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back To The Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three," he said. "But it could be done, you never know."
But for Lea Thompson, who played Marty McFly's mother Lorraine Baines McFly, it will be great to see a fourth "Back to the Future" film for the new generation viewers to appreciate.
"It's surreal thinking about something I did a long time ago," Thompson said about a possible "Back To The Future 4" release date in an interview with The Toronto Sun. "It's kind of weird, but it's nice."
"Age makeup is kind painful, and it's strange to act in because if you move your face too much you tear it, and if you tear it you ruin the whole day."
"It's a different time to be older now," she added. "I'm sitting here basically wearing the same dress my daughter would wear. I've got the same hair my daughter would wear. We can get away with that stuff."
And if she'd be asked to return, she would be interested to reprise her role.
"If they were making it and they were asking, I'd be interested," she said.
Now that the original cast have expressed their desire for a "Back to the Future 4" movie, fans are hoping that Universal Pictures could be announcing a release date in no time.
