There is no doubt how "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie gave Dakota Johnson her most awaited break in her acting career after portraying the role of female lead, Anastasia Steele.
While her career has skyrocketed, her love life seemed to have directed downward spiral.
It was previously reported that Dakota Johnson and her boyfirend Matthew Hitt have decided to call it quits after filming "Fifty Shades Of Grey."
Apparently, Hitt could not stand the fame Johnson gained after the movie became an instant hit.
"Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something that he wanted to be a part of," the source told Us Weekly.
However, after the hype subsided, the couple reportedly decided to rekindle their romance.
"She's giving it another shot," the insider revealed.
"Another insider says they 'never really stopped talking,' but put the romance on hold when her Fifty Shades commitments got crazy. 'She really does like him.'"
Daily Mail previously saw the couple strolling their dog, Zepellin.
"She recently wrapped her latest film, How To Be Single,'" the publication claimed.
"And Dakota Johnson, 25, surely relished her spare time in Sunday, as she spent the day cosying up to her beau Matthew Hitt, 28.
Adding, "The two were spotted on an intimate coffee run while taking Dakota's pup for a stroll around West Village."
However, with the sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey" already gearing up, Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt have once again split.
The 26-year-old actress confirmed the new in an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"No," Johnson answered when asked if she's in a relationship.
Ellen DeGeneres followed up with another question, "So is it harder for guys, are guys scared of you? Or do you notice a difference in guys approaching or not approaching you?"
To which, Matthew Hitt's ex replied, "I don't know... I guess that if those are the two options, I guess they're scared of me. They either love me or they're running for the hills."
While Dakota did not say anything about her breakup and its connection with the movie, another angle that should be taken into consideration is her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.
The two were reportedly caught in a night club in Los Angeles, RadarOnline revealed.
"Jake and Dakota were accompanied at their table by different people throughout the night - including the owner of the bar [that's] so inaccessible to the public that it doesn't even have a name," an eyewitness revealed. "They left the venue through separate exits, Johnson out the front and Gyllenhaal via a back door."
