Frank Delgado Confirms The Release Of Deftones New Album For Next Year!

| By

Deftones is back with a new album after going on a hiatus since 2013.

Band frontman Chino Moreno decided to take some rest following the death of their former bassist, Chi Cheng, from a car accident two years ago.

Deftones is now reportedly done with the recording of their new album following "Koi No Yokan," which was released in 2012.

In an interview with NME, Abe Cunningham and Frank Delgado confirmed that the new album is all set and just going through some final touches prior to releasing.

In the interview, Delgado also revealed that Deftones would most likely release their record next year, with no exact date yet.

"It's going to come out in the new year," Delgado confirmed. "We had some dates that were already kind of tentative."

However, while the album production is already done, Cunningham confessed that they haven't thought of an album title yet.

"It's being mixed now," the person in charge of the turntables explained. "It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They're actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things and... We're mixing and we still are in the process of album title, artwork, song titles. We haven't even got there yet, but the music's done."

And in a separate interview with Blabbermouth, Frank Delgado shared his thoughts of Deftones' new album, teasing fans of what to expect once it hits the shelves next year.

"This one was different," Delgado said of their new Deftones album. "This one was a lot of starting and stopping, which I think is something we would've been scared of before."

"For the last couple of records, we went in and we started writing and we didn't stop until we finished the record," he said. "This one we took our time and it was a good pace. Everyone needed that break to breathe, to go home to family. Now we're ready to be able to work like this. It allowed us to think about things longer as opposed to get something done by a deadline."
