Xioami Mi 4 users in China receive a new OS option for their handsets.
Last week the 2014 flagship device leaked to get the Windows 10 on Thanksgiving day as shared on Weibo by Microsoft Operating System Software Engineer who goes by the alias TheRenaissanceMan, WMPU reported.
"Thanksgiving Day is around the corner, so is the public release of Windows 10 for Mi 4."
It was then followed by the Xiaomi's Founder and President Lin Bin post of a photo teasing the Xiaomi Mi 4 running on Windows 10 on the Chinese social media. It is being said that selected users in China will first get their hands on the Windows 10 OS for Xiaomi Mi 4 which has been expected to arrive Dec. 3.
However, information about the OS hasn't been detailed yet.
Reportedly, the custom ROM for the Xioami Mi 4 has been in the works for quite some time now as Xiaomi and Microsoft has signed an agreement in March to deliver Windows 10 OS on Xiaomi smartphones.
"Through a new program with Xiaomi, one of the top smartphone distributors in the world, a select group of Xiaomi Mi 4 power users will be invited to help test Windows 10 and contribute to its future release later this year. These power users will have the opportunity to download the Windows 10 Technical Preview - installing it and providing their feedback to Microsoft," as stated from Xiaomi's blogpost, NDTV Gadgets reported.
Aside from the Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 also runs on Windows 10 OS with an Intel chipset which costs around $205.
On the other news, Xiaomi Mi 4 has been spotted at the FCC listing which could indicate that Xiaomi handsets are finally entering the US market. Specs-wise, the FCC listing did not reveal the Xiaomi Mi 4 US version's features. Though it is expected to come with almost the same as the original version, Christian Post reported.
