Salma Hayek, an actress and a humanitarian, shared on Instagram on Sunday an image of her daughter revealing that at a young age, her daughter Valentina is already following Salma's philanthropic footsteps.
"My daughter Valentina is growing her beautiful mane so she can cut it and donate it to make a wig for children with cancer. Now that is the spirit of Christmas," Salma Hayek posted on Instagram with a picture of her eight-year-old daughter Valentina turning her back on the camera and standing in front of a seasonal Christmas display, showing her long, curly hair reaching down her waist.
Various charitable organizations use donated hairs to make wigs for kids with cancer who are experiencing hair loss as an effect of chemotherapy.
Salma Hayek is clearly rearing her daughter Valentina to possess the same humanitarian and philanthropic values that the "Frida" actress possess.
According to Business Standard, the actress, who built the Salma Hayek Foundation, has long supported charities that aid battered women and disadvantaged youths. Hayek is also the co-founder of women's rights initiative Chime for Change at the Variety Power of Women event in Hollywood.
Hayek previously shared an advice as a mother to young girls at Variety's Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills, California last October. In her speech, she said that girls like her daughter Valentina should stand out and don't just blend in.
"I think the most important thing to tell for the new generation is to have courage to be unique, to be curious about who they are, instead of trying to blend in," Hayek said, as reported on People.
The Mexican-born actress added, "The most important thing to say to girls is to not try to be like the other girls. Not to try to fit in, but to try to really be profound thinkers that are excited about their differences and explore what they are and who they are and what can come out of the new."
