"The Voice" Season 9 is already down to 10 artists, with Coaches Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton still having 3 artists each and Coach Pharrell Williams only having 1 left.
This week, outstanding performances came from Jordan Smith of Team Adam covering a favorite yet extremely tough contest piece, Korin Bukowski of Team Gwen doing a Selena Gomez hit and Amy Vachal of Team Adam wowing the crowd by giving the early 2000's N'Sync hit a surprising twist.
"The Voice" Top 10 started off with Team Gwen's Jefferey Austin doing a cover of Labrinth's "Jealous." Adam, who was very impressed with the performance, said that Jefferey can make it big, with or without "The Voice." Blake said he got lost in the song, which according to him he has not experienced in the entire Season 9 until Jefferey's Top 10 performance.
Next up was Team Blake's Emily Ann Roberts with a rendition of Patsy Cline's "She's Got You." Pharrell couldn't believe how young she is for doing a fantastic performance of a classic song. Adam also noted the incredible growth Emily Ann has shown in such a short time.
Team Gwen's Braiden Sunshine, the youngest in the show, made a bold choice and decided to do something new by taking on the Imagine Dragons hit, "Radioactive," which got the crowd erupt in cheers after the performance. Adam says he is a fan and he loves Braiden.
Shelby Brown of Team Adam gave an emotional and touching performance of Vince Gill's "Go Rest On That High Mountain." International Business Times, in its report, noted that Brown's direct competitor is Emily Ann Roberts (Team Blake) given their similar styles. But based on today's performances, IB Times said it was clear that Shelby's vocals was superior of the two.
Korin Bukowski of Team Gwen, who had been in the bottom two for two weeks in a row, chose Selena Gomez's "Same Old Love, which according to her, resonates her true style. Pharrell thought it was fresh and amazing and called it Korin's moment.
The constant iTunes chart-topper Amy Vachal of Team Adam, this week, took on a stripped down version of N'Sync's "Bye, Bye, Bye'" which delighted the audience. Gwen said Amy can already go on tour with her beautiful covers.
Team Adam's Jordan Smith proved he is the one to beat in "The Voice" Season 9. For his top 10 performance, Jordan took on Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah," which had been covered by several artists in "The Voice" in the past, and Refinery29 says Smith's cover is one of the best.
Zach Seabaugh of Team Blake followed with a rendition of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," consistently choosing songs that may appeal to his female fanbase. Madi Davis, the only remaining artist in Team Pharrell, came next with an original, emotional arrangement of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."
The last to perform was Team Blake's Barrett Baber who went back to his roots by performing Conway Twitty's "I'd Just Love To Lay You Down." Blake predicted that Barrett will break through the Top 10 on the iTunes charts this week.
And Blake's prediction was right because according to Blasting News, shortly after the end of the show, Barrett Baber's "I'd Just Love To Lay You Down" clinched No. 3 in the iTunes charts. Higher by a spot, however, is Jordan Smith's "Hallelujah" in No.2. Madi Davis's scored the No. 5 spot with her "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" cover and following her at No. 5 in Emily Ann Roberts. Other artists entering the Top 10 iTunes charts are Jeffery Austin at No. 8, Shelby Brown at No. 9 and Amy Vachal at No. 10.
