Lorde All Set To Release New Album With Completely Different Sound

| By

Following the celebration of her 19th birthday last Nov. 7, Lorde is now back in the studio for her new album, New Zealand Herald confirmed.

"It's been a studio birthday so far you'll be happy to know," she said.

And with the phenomenal success of her single "Royals," from the album "Pure Heroine," fans must have been expecting Lorde to produce a new album of the same genre.

However, while her unique music style has gained a huge following, the Grammy award winning artist is rumored to be working on an entirely different genre.

According to MTV, Lorde is collaborating with EDM group Disclosure.

Apparently, Lorde worked on the duo's song "Magnets," which reportedly impressed them.

"How she wanted to change every little bit and really be involved with the whole thing is really cool," Disclosure said of Lorde's involvement. "It just reminded us to pay really close attention of every little piece."

Lorde has reportedly been hinting the shift in genre for her sophomore album. The 19-year-old Kiwi songstress has reportedly gained inspiration from her experiences following the success of "Pure Heroine."

"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said of her new album in an interview with BBC. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."

But while the idea is there already, Lorde confessed that she still can't imagine how the new album would be like.

"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like,'" Lorde explained. "I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."

"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
