New "Legends of Tomorrow" trailer took over the internet when it was released yesterday. It is not just online where it is taking over, even Thursday televisions.
"Legends of Tomorrow" premiere is set on January 21 next year and it will be on prime time. What does this mean for the network's tight schedule? A show must give way for the comics-based superhero series. One of which is another hit TV series "Vampire Diaries."
"The CW announces big moves for the upcoming midseason," Ace Showbiz reported.
"'The Vampire Diaries' and its spinoff 'The Originals' are relocated to make rooms for DC Comics superhero adaptation 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' and post-apocalyptic drama 'The 100.'"
"Starting January 21 next year, the "Arrow / The Flash" spinoff and the third season premiere of the Hundred are set to air Thursdays at 8 and 9 P.M. respectively. Meanwhile, the two vampire-themed series are scheduled for Fridays beginning January 29."
"Legends of Tomorrow" premiere comes at a time while "The Flash" and "Arrow", the shows where it is spun from, are on a break.
The full "Legends of Tomorrow" trailer debut last night and it focused on the protagonists and main villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). "The Flash" and "Arrow" already have their own menacing bad guys and for LoT, showrunner Phil Klemmer said they especially picked Vandal Savage because of his time traveling powers which will surely provide a good challenge on the superhero team which will be headed by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh).
"With Vandal, with any villain, the trick is always to find somebody commensurately evil or formidable," Klemmer said in an interview with Comic Book Resources.
"We have an ensemble of eight-plus heroes -- you have to come up with a version of the antichrist if you want it to feel like it's anywhere close to being an even challenge between the black hats and the white hats; although in truth most of our guys are sort of gray hats. Coming up with an immortal seemed like the only way that we could have a bad guy who matched our team."
