LG Electronics is introducing a curved ultra-high definition television when the International Consumer Electronics Show is held in Las Vegas Jan. 7 to Jan. 10 the company said in a press release Thursday.
"We are happy to unveil the 105-inch Curved UHD TV, the culmination of Samsung's advancements, following the world's first Curved UHD TV at IFA 2013," HS Kim, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics visual display business said in a statement on the company's blog. "You will experience a true curved TV optimized for consumer viewing environments at CES 2014."
The product is considered to be the only television of its kind with an arch leaning downward at its top, slightly upward on the bottom, and inward on both sides.
"LG Display has kept its dominant position in the display market with innovative and differentiated technologies," Yong-kee Hwang, senior vice president and leader of LG Display's TV Business Unit. said in a statement "With a resolution of 11 million pixels, the 105-inch curved LCD panel is proof of our continued leadership in the next generation display market, offering exceptional world-class value to our customers."
The television shows an expansive screen that depicts graphics and images transparently, and makes TV watchers feel like they are in the scene they see. The screen's 21:9 CinemaScope provides this atmosphere especially for movies.
Consumers are also able to see information pertaining to what they are watching without missing any part of the content.

"Claiming the world's first and the world's largest titles, LG's 105UC9 employs cutting-edge technology to provide a truly unique viewing experience. We will continue to drive the next generation TV market and demonstrate that with LG, it's all possible."
