'Justice League Dark,' which is currently titled "Dark Universe," is back on track as DC is reportedly focusing on the development on the film; new cast and director have recently surfaced, as well.
After Guillermo del Toro left the director's seat for "Justice League Dark," fans were awaiting the name to replace del Toro. Joblo, in its recent report, named two directors eyed to helm the supernatural superhero film: the "Big Bad Wolves" directing duo Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado and "Evil Dead" remake director Fede Alvarez.
According to Joblo, Guillermo del Toro turned his back from "Justice League Bark" after turning in his screenplay and having been exhausted with the studio over casting and scheduling. Del Toro's screenplay, however, was excellently done, which is why DC is working to push "Justice League Dark" and targets early 2016 to begin production.
Having the duo Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado or Fede Alvarez to helm "Justice League Dark" will assure fans of a good material since both directors already have made their own dark and morbid films.
Previously reported are the actors and actresses also eyed for certain roles in the film including Colin Farrell as Constantine, Ewan McGregor as Jason Blood/The Demon, and Monica Bellucci as Madame Xanadu. Also considered for the casting is Ron Perlman as Swamp Thing while the studio is looking for a Latina or Black actress to fill in the role of Zatana. On the list to portray Zatana is the "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez.
Heroic Hollywood also recently revealed that "The Dark Knight Rises" Ben Mendelsohn is eyed to play the villain Anton Arcane. Mendelsohn, accordingly, would decide on taking the role or not depending on who would be named director for "Justice League Dark."
There is no release date currently set for "Justice League Dark" yet.
