Will Marvel finally give in and introduce a female-lead movie in its Cinematic Universe?
Following Warner Bros. decision to create a "Wonder Woman" standalone film, talks of a "Black Widow" movie have become more rampant.
And while Marvel has yet to announce anything, Scarlett Johansson, who plays the role of Natsha Romanoff aka Black Widow, in Marvel films has finally talked about the possibility of a standalone film.
"A Black Widow movie would be cool. I'm always happy to put the catsuit back on," she said according to Express.
"What's great about playing this character is she's based in something deep and something I can hold onto. She's grounded and is very real. She has experienced a lot of trauma and she's never been able to make active choices for herself, and now she is ready for it."
Scarlett Johansson had also find time to talk about the relationship of Black Widow and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
"I think one of the qualities of the Black Widow that I really love and am interested in is that she is at a place where she is able to maybe do something for herself and maybe, even have a relationship and open up in that way," she continued.
"There is this kind of greater calling that is pulling her but she very selflessly shoots it back and it's heroic. She is a slippery fish in her job but when you get Natasha, she's kind of cool and can be her sexy self."
The 30-year-old star also told Screen Rant how "mad" Marvel could be, which makes anything possible.
"You know, there's always the possibility in this kind of Marvel madness that, you know, anything could happen, and a lot of these spin-offs are really like fan-driven, you know, kind of audience-driven, which is great because if the audience wants it, then you know that it's built in in a way and people are excited to see it," she said referring to the movie.
Adding, "Not feeding them they're not into. So if the audience wants something like that and we could really, you know, carve out a great story for her that's a continuation of what we already know, then I'd be totally for it. I mean, she's definitely got -the material is there, you know, and I'm, you know, I'm always willing to slip the suit back on and power through it, you know, if people want to see it."
