Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley is not exactly a part of "Empire" season 2 cast but he is doing another important job.
The 43-year old artist is currently the Fox musical drama's music producer and is behind several hit songs in the show.
"Empire" season 2 cast has been graced by several musicians who are of great stature. Amongst them are Ludacris, Ne-yo, and Gladys Knight. It is safe to say that lead cast members are being groomed as the next big music stars, too. So who's going to make it? One does not need to go far to get the answer.
Timbaland was asked the same question and he did not hesitate to say it will be Bryshere Gray who plays young rapper Hakeem Lyon.
"Hakeem [played by Bryshere Y. Gray, a.k.a. Yazz the Greatest]. You ain't even got to finish that," he told Vulture adding that he wants to help Jussie Smollett, too.
"Jussie is a star, too, but they got their arms around him. Once I get with Jussie, I'm going to show him what to do. I think too many people are focused on him because of his sexuality. Everybody got their arms around him. I just need to put my arm around him that one time and take him away from that world. He needs to be with the Weeknd."
When asked how can Bryshere Gray achieve stardom, Timbaland said he already has the humility which is important. However, the young artist needs to create more music.
"People are gonna like him," he said. "It's just a getting-to-know process. The problem with Hakeem is, Fox gotta understand, he is a musical artist. That's his first passion, so he gotta put out a Yazz the Greatest mixtape. He has to. We have to. He has to do everything the kids are doing right now. What he is doing is cool, but we need some more music. We need some other gutter stuff beneath that."
