'How To Get Away With Murder' To Be Canceled After Season 2? EP Hints Of What They Will Do If Ever

| By

The ABC TV series starring Viola Davis has gotten away with its confusing twists and turns thanks to its explosive "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 fall finale episode.

Now, the question is - will it be able to escape axing from the network?

Actually, there are no talks whether "How to Get Away with Murder" will go or not beyond second season. However, executive producer Peter Nowalk sparked such rumor after confirming to TV Line that they are not planning way beyond their weekly episode.

TVLine: It's a good problem to have. Knowing Season 3 is inevitable - not having to think, we'd better have a way to wrap this up in case we're cancelled!

Nowalk: Well, I still do think that. [Laughs] You're only as good as your last episode.

This conversation started when the interviewer asked if there will be new students after the "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 fall finale episode. Nowalk only said they are not really planning ahead.

"We don't debate it - because we're so busy trying to write the next scene, honestly," he told the entertainment website.

"We're so behind schedule I can't tell you. [Laughs] But yes, while that's a really big question for me, I don't ever want the show to have rules to it. Annalise is a law professor right now. Does that mean she always has to be? Does she always have to keep these kids around? I think they're bonded in a way that's for life - or 'til the end of their lives. What's happening in TV now is that you don't have to stick to a formula - and you can't. There's too much else on the air. The minute people figure out the joke, they're going to move on. Still, yes, it's something I worry about."

Curiously though, "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 lost some of its followers from the first season. The fall finale garnered 7 million viewers, two million lower compared to its first season's mid-season finale.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 fall finale is called "What Did We Do?" Show will return on February 11 next year.
