Apple's latest computer release, the Mac Pro workstation is now available for purchase, but consumers who order it will not receive it until February Arstechnica.com reported Thursday.
"In retrospect, yes, I sort of wish we had done it after the turn of the year," Tim Cook, Apple CEO told Arstechnia "Customers wouldn't have had to have waited as long as they did."
The news is the latest since over 19 months went by from when Apple unveiled its iMac computer screen in 2011, and was expected to be sent to consumers Dec. 30 until it was pushed back to February.
The Mac Pro is now available, however for $2,999 for a base quad-core Intel Xeon processor version with 256 gigabytes of space. A six-core version is available for $3,999.
Consumers can get the equipment online, in Apple retail locations according to The Washngton Post. The device is also be available at businesses who also sell Apple products.
Apple's latest Mac Pro model has a more slender design than its previous models, and a refined body made of aluminum, and in black. The frame is no more than 10-inches in height, and not as big as its previous version, measuring one-eighth the size of the previous version.
Users will also be able to edit movies, and use a maximum of three 4K ultra high definition video displays at the same time. There are also six Thunderbolt ports which consumers can use to link up the computer to the Thunderbolt ports.
The release is the latest hardware in Apple's Pro series.
The previous Mac Book Pro laptop is equipped with a more durable battery than its older version all for $1,299, a $200 savings The Los Angeles Times reported.
The 13-inch model with a retina display was released Oct. 22, and previously had an issue where its Multi-Touch trackpad became unresponsive.
