While ISIS terrorists mercilessly murdered and executed about 130 innocent people during the attacks in Paris, Nov. 13, two women's lives were spared after a jihadist gunman ran out of bullets, just as he was about to execute them.
Released by The Daily Mail just a few days after the Paris terrorist attacks, the video showed a commotion among customers after bullets from terrorists rained over an unidentified restaurant.
Customers and staff frantically hid under tables and chairs inside the café.
But Sophia Bejali, 40 and Barbara Serpentini, 18 who were at the patio when the incident happened, immediately covered themselves behind a table.
The jihadi killer approached and aimed his AK-47 rifle at Bejali and pulled the trigger twice but unfortunately, ran out of ammunition, leaving him no choice but to walk away.
This gave the two women a chance to escape.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Bejali and Serpentini expressed their terror during the incident.
"He is coming to me, he is pointing the gun at my head. It all happens so quickly. I am so lucky. We are so lucky," Bejali said.
"We both thought he hadn't seen us. I didn't realize we were so close to being killed," said Serpentini, a political science and philosophy student in central Paris.
In a separate article, Daily Mail reported that the gunman in the video was believed to be Salah Abdeslam, a 26-year-old Belgian national.
"The terrorist seen in the footage bears a striking resemblance to Abdeslam, who fled Paris after the attacks and evaded capture after a shocking blunder by police near Franco-Belgian border," Daily Mail reported.
The day after the footage was released, CNN reported on Thursday that the main perpetrator of the Paris attack last November 13, 2015, Abdelhamid Abaaoud was killed in a crossfire with French officials.
Abdeslam was said to be with Abaaoud and 5 other terrorists who stayed in the flat in Saint-Denis the police raided.
