Apple Mac Pro: Computer Workstation Goes On Sales Thursday (VIDEO)

Apple Mac Pro enthusiasts and other customers can buy the computer workstation when it goes on sale Thursday Forbes reported Wednesday.

"(The Mac Pro's) truly revolutionary, truly revolutionary) (design should help quell critics who say the company isn't as innovative as it used to be,)" Phil Schiller, marketing chief at Apple told people at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June in Austin, Texas Forbes reported

"Like with the MacBook Air, our engineering team has thought about the technology today and what would be possible with a new Mac desktop," Schiller told CNET. "(This is) the future of the pro desktop,"

The Mac Pro will be available for $2,999 for a base quad-core Intel Xeon processor version with 256 gigabytes of space. A six-core version is available for $3,999.

"We have begun manufacturing the Mac Pro in Austin," Tim Cook, Apple CEO said in a post on his Twitter account. "It's the most powerful Mac ever. Orders start tomorrow.

Consumers can get the equipment online, in Apple retail locations according to The Washington Post. The device will also be available at businesses who also sell Apple products.

Apple's latest Mac Pro model has a more slender design than its previous models, and a refined body made of aluminum, and in black. The frame is no more than 10-inches in height, and not as big as its previous version, measuring one-eighth the size of the previous version.

Users will also be able to edit movies, and use a maximum of three 4K ultra high definition video displays at the same time. There are also six Thunderbolt ports which consumers can use to link up the computer to the Thunderbolt ports.

"There's never been a system that can do what the Mac Pro can do with 4K video," Schiller told Arstechnica.

The Macbook Pro is equipped with a more durable battery than its older version all for $1,299, a $200 savings The Los Angeles Times reported.
