YouTube Star PewDiePie Releases First Footage of ‘Scare PewDiePie;’ Air Date Revealed?

| By

Felix Kjellberg aka PewDiePie released via his YouTube channel the first footage from his upcoming YouTube Red show, "Scare PewDiePie."

"Scare PewDiePie," as previously announced by PewDiePie, is a horror-themed show mixed with real-life situations and inspired by horror games. "Scare PewDiePie" will be aired exclusively on YouTube Red, YouTube's new subscription -based streaming platform. The show, accordingly, will be YouTube Red's banner show.

The horror-themed "Scare PewDiePie" is developed by the YouTube star in partnership with "the Walking Dead's" creative team.

In the first footage released by PewDiePie in his channel, the YouTube star is seen lying on a metal box when suddenly a man with a scythe attacked him. A few moments later, smoke filled the little space PewDiePie was in then the metal box drops down and a slimy substance almost filled the metal box which made PewDiePie really freaked out.

PewDiePie was seen swearing, cursing and screaming all throughout the first footage, which PewDiePie swore was all real with "Scare PewDiePie" being a "part prank, part suspense adventure show."

"The show promises a completely authentic experience as Felix goes into every episode without knowing what he's in for," YouTube said in a statement.

David Alpert of Skybound Entertainment, the company of "The Walking Dead's" director Robert Kirkman, previously said that "Scare PewDiePie" will make use of PewDiePie's "exuberance and charisma," which made the YouTube star so successful.

"How freaked out, how creeped out, how scared can we make him? It was our goal to turn a human being into a pile of quivering jelly for our amusement," Alpert said.

No airdate has been announced yet for "Scare PewDiePie" although it is certain that YouTube Red will be launched next year. Fans will have to pay a subscription fee of $9.99 to avail of YouTube Red streaming services. The show will be produced by Skybound Entertainment and Disney's Maker Studios.
