Following the successful ending of "Shokugeki No Soma" season 1, fans could not help but expect for season 2.
While there's no clear indication that a season 2 release date is going to happen, OtakuGiveAways noted that given the first season's strong storyline, it's not impossible for the developers to proceed with another season.
"I mean, hey it is food! But the good thing is that there is a clear storyline that lays as a backbone and shows the anime isn't all about food and the anime has potential to grow. I hope there will be second round for this gorgeous anime!" It explained.
And as per Youth Health Magazine, the anime has a lot of story to left to tell given the manga's progress.
"As of the moment, the anime's manga version is at Chapter 135," the publication explained. "That said, the animated version of the franchise still has a lot of material to work with for the 'Shokugeki No Soma' season 2 plot."
However, When-Will is doubtful that there will be a season 2 release date for "Shokugeki No Soma," noting that stories focused on food are most likely subjected to a limited storyline.
"It is unlikely that Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma will get renewed for a second season - the subject of food is quite narrow," the anime publication noted.
The publication has however, acknowledged the power of cooking show offs like the one from James Oliver, making it still possible for "Shokugeki No Soma" to have a season 2 release date.
However, When-Will noted that that could only happen if the DVD sales of the first season proves a "satisfactory" outcome.
"If 'Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma' DVD sales are satisfactory, there might be another season of the series, and in that case we are looking at summer of 2016," When-Will stated.
"Shokigeki no Soma" season 1 arrived on April 3, 2015 at online anime streaming sites, Crunchyroll and Anime Digital Network.
The anime is often compared to the reality cook-off show "Hell's Kitchen."
