Caitlyn Jenner News: Rose McGowan Fires Shots Over 'I Am Cait' Star's 'Woman Of The Year' Award

| By

She may have played a "Charmed" witch but Rose McGowan believes it takes more than just charm to be hailed "Woman of the Year" by Glamour Magazine, reason why she recently criticized Caitlyn Jenner's seemingly shallow comments on being a woman were seen in the news.

In an open letter to the "I Am Cait" star, "Charmed" actress Rose McGowan slammed Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner) for her recent interview with Buzzfeed News, wherein she stated that "the hardest part about being a woman is figuring out what to wear."

"I had really no sense of style. Everyone around me in my family had the sense of style - I learned as much as I possibly could," Jenner told Buzzfeed.

Caitlyn Jenner's statement did not sit well with Rose McGowan, who is known to be an outspoken activist, especially on gender issues.

"Caitlyn Jenner you do not understand what being a woman is about at all," Rose McGowan wrote on her Facebook page. "You want to be a woman and stand with us -- well learn us. We are more than deciding what to wear. We are more than the stereotypes foisted upon us by people like you,"

"You're a woman now? Well f*cking learn that we have had a VERY different experience than your life of male privilege," the 42-year-old wrote.

"Woman of the year? No, not until you wake up and join the fight," McGowan went on. "Being a woman comes with a lot of baggage. The weight of unequal history. You'd do well to learn it. You'd do well to wake up. Woman of the year? Not by a long f*cking shot."

The "Jawbreakers" actress also posted memes with quotes on being a woman by Caitlyn Jenner, which have all been deleted, ET Online reported.

The memes reportedly included photos of a woman giving birth, a woman being raped, a woman being followed at night as well as a meme of Caitlyn Jenner's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, who was also Kris Jenner's best friend and was killed by her own husband, O.J. Simpson in 1994.

No news yet as to how Caitlyn Jenner is taking Rose McGowan's reaction over her being hailed "Woman of the Year" by Glamour.
