'Legends Of Tomorrow' Cast To Welcome More Actresses As It Look For Addt'l Female Superheroes

| By

Expect "Legends of Tomorrow" cast line up to expand on, before, or after its premiere.

The upcoming CW Network show already has at least 12 confirmed characters to be played by actors and actresses who appeared in "The Flash" and "Arrow" where it was spun from.

Although 12 is already a pretty high number for lead cast line up, executive producer Phil Klemmer reveals more actresses might join "Legends of Tomorrow" cast as there is a chance they will have additional female superheroes.

"I was just thinking about that," he told Comic Book Resources when asked if he feels the need to up the number of female heroes in the show.

"I was doing the math -- it does feel like we have a need for some double-X chromosome ass-kickery, although I will say that the two women we do have can certainly hold their own, and make up for their numbers with their strength of personality and pure strength."

So far, there are only two female superheroes in LoT - Caity Lotz as Sarah Lance/White Canary and Ciara Renee as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl.

When asked who might those femme fatales will be, Klemmer quickly confirmed it won't be Supergirl who already has her own show in CBS and portrayed by Melissa Benoist.

"It's true. You have to go deep into the catalogue," he said about Supergirl not being an option to add to "Legends of Tomorrow" cast. "But one of the virtues of being able to travel through time is, we can find mortals who would be part of our cause, and maybe we can find superheroes from different incarnations, because we're able to go back in time."

"Legends of Tomorrow" pilot episode is expected to air by January next year and it will be divided into two parts. Episode three and four are called "Blood Ties" and "White Knights", respectively.
