Daniel Radcliffe On Eddie Redmayne As Newt Scamander: ‘I Don’t Think He Needs Advice’

| By

What does Daniel Radcliffe and Eddie Redmayne have in common?

They're both British and they're both the lead stars of JK Rowling's biggest film franchises (at least one huge franchise and the other projected to be a success).

With the "Harry Potter" films' successful box-office run, it's highly likely that "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them," the upcoming "Harry Potter" spinoff from Warner Brothers, would also follow its course.

According to previous reports, this would be the Academy Award winner's first attempt at a high-profile role with such huge commercial (not to mention fanatic) pressure at stake.

Redmayne certainly feels the pressure, but it's reportedly not making him nervous enough not to do his best to portray Newt Scamander well.

Did he ask the "Viktor Frankenstein" star for advice on how to play a wizard?

"I haven't, actually. I haven't," he reportedly said when CinemaBlend asked him about it. "I know Dan a wee bit, and I ... at some point, I should focus on making this [movie] right first, and live up to what he'd done already."

Meanwhile, Daniel Radcliffe also shared the same sentiment about Eddie Redmayne's skills to Entertainment Weekly.

"No, I don't think he needs advice - just like, enjoy it," the "Horns" star said during the interview. "I don't think there's anything to live up to as well, especially because it's not like there's original source material which is a very strong narrative."

Although he's already read the book and "lived" in the world that it belonged to, he still didn't have anything substantial to share about the upcoming trilogy.

"You know, the 'Fantastic Beasts' book is really cool, but it's a bestiary," he said, adding that he hopes his fellow Brit is "really enjoying it and not feeling too much pressure."

Daniel Radcliffe may not be part of the cast which includes Eddie Redmayne anymore but he'll be looking forward to watching it with the rest of the Potterheads around the world.
