| By

Ever wished you were at an event but ended up watching Facebook videos uploaded by friends?

Today, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg launched a new feature that allows iOS users to have a 360-degree panorama video experience.

The Facebook 360 degree panorama video feature allows users to view a video from any angle simply by touching the screen and dragging it to whichever direction they like.

They can also move their device around and the 360 panorama feature on Facebook will follow suit, giving them a virtual reality experience.

"360 video is a completely new experience because you can move the camera around," Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook account. "This opens new ways of sharing experiences and makes you feel like you're part of what you're watching. It's a step towards even more immersive experiences,"

"We think people will share a lot more 360 content in the future, especially as technology makes it easier to record it themselves. We're excited you can discover them on Facebook," he added.

Zuckerberg's post comes with a video shot in North Korea by ABC News. Facebook's 360 panorama video feature for Android and Desktop computers was first launched in September.

Since then, 360 videos from other high-profile Facebook partners have been released, including GoPro, Star Wars, Discovery, Disney Channel Vice, NBA star Lebron James and NBC's Saturday Night Live.

Facebook also revealed that there are more 360 videos to be published from other pages like Buzzfeed and Nickelodeon.

GoPro's Tahiti Surf VR featured surfers Anthony Walsh and Mahati Drollet recording a 360 video as they surfed the waves in Tahiti, using GoPro's six-camera spherical rig, Telegraph reported.

Mark Zuckerberg had previously said that in a few years' time, virtual reality will become a big part of people's lives the way mobile devices have become a necessity to everyday living.

In March, The Facebook CEO said that their company is currently focusing on platforms to "enable even more useful, entertaining and personal experiences" like virtual reality.

Zuckerberg is betting on virtual reality so much, he even paid a gaming start-up called Oculus VR, for them to continue working on virtual reality.

The Facebook chief made the payment of $2 billion through Oculus' fund-raising page on Kickstarter.
