Following the box office success of the first film, "Avatar 2" will finally come into reality in 2017.
And while fans are still waiting for James Cameron's film to arrive in theaters, reports reveal that the sequel to the highly anticipate sci-fi adventure drama will be an emotional roller coaster ride.
And while no one wants to reveal details about the film, original cast Zoe Saldana, who played the role of Neytiri, promised that it's going to be emotional.
In her previous interview with MTV (via Crossmap), Saldama teased that the story is going to be "wonderful."
"It was wonderful," the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star teased. "Jim took us and gave us a tour of all the reference pictures, telling us the stories. I haven't been able to read the scripts. They're still working on them."
And while it's most likely that she's now able to read the script already, Saldana, at that time, could only say that "Avatr 2" going to be really emotional.
"We kind of get choked up. Cameron gets emotional telling us about the story. I get emotional hearing about it, so I'm looking forward to it."
According to James Cameron, the sequel will most definitely feature more of Jake Sully's (Sam Worthington) family.
"It was very Jake-centric," Cameron said referring to the first film. "His story seen through his eyes. We spread it around quite a bit more as we go forward."
Additionally, James Cameron revealed that "Avatar 2" will also explore Pandora's ocean ecosystem.
"We're making up an ocean ecosystem for Pandora," he revealed to Coming Soon as he talked about the Ocean Conservation project that he's also busy working with. "That's gonna have less to do with the deep exploration that I've done than it has to do with my concerns about conservation of Earth's oceans."
But while things are all ironed out, James Cameron admitted that it is really hard for the team to come up with a story connecting to two more other "Avatar" films.
And while "Avatar 2" release date suffered from a delay, he made sure that the third and fourth films will not be affected with the changes, Crossmap reported.
"We expect to be able to accelerate the process quite a bit, because we've improved a lot of the software and the computer graphics tools, and we've been working very closely with Weta Digital down here in New Zealand developing a whole new suite of tools to speed up the process," the director explained of the sequels' development.
James Cameron added that while doing three simultaneous films together is no easy taks, they are able to pull strings and managed to make everything possible.
"We're writing three simultaneously. And we've done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. Were' not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that and parallel with that, we're doing all the design. So we've designed all the creatures and the environments."
"Avatar 2" movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 25, 2017.
