With the way Los Angeles Lakers season is going, it is not surprising if they get involved in several NBA trade rumors.
However, the latest one is still something that appears far-fetched.
ESPN's Trade Machine has Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook featured and one of those that garnered attention is the one involving Los Angeles Lakers.
According to the NBA trade rumor, Lakers can get the explosive point guard by trading its young stars D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle plus Nick Young.
Complex Sports pick up the fantasy trade and agreed, it can somehow make sense for both franchise.
"Shooting 32 percent from the field, Kobe Bryant hasn't been very good this season," Complex wrote.
"So no, he's not on the trading block for Russell Westbrook. But you gotta invest in the future, man, and D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle are the future if they're developed properly. They should be reliable by the time Kevin Durant reaches the end of his prime. And Swaggy P? I don't know-he's harmless, so let's just throw him in there."
Both Russell and Randle are still developing and it is a question if Lakers, one of the most glamorous teams in the NBA, will be patient on them. Kobe Bryant previously said this could be his last season and him leaving the game will leave a big void on the franchise. Lakers need to have a legit superstar to lead the team and Russell Westbrook is more probably a good pick up.
Oklahoma City Thunder's other star Kevin Durant is set to become a free agent next season and up to now, it is hard to determine whether he will stay or not. If he does leave, this means the chances of Westbrook leaving the team also diminished.
