"The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence's leaked nude photos last year sparked a worldwide activism against online sex crime.
She along with several other celebrities were victimized by hackers who uploaded their private pictures on the internet for the world to see.
In a very rare occasion, the 25-year old actress speaks about the ordeal she went through after her nude photos were leaked.
"It was all pain and no gain," Lawrence told Vogue magazine which she graces for its December issue.
"But I don't dwell on it unless someone brings it up. Have you seen me naked?"
Authorities tried to track the perpetrator behind Jennifer Lawrence's leaked nude photos. They arrested a certain Emilio Herrera whose IP address is connected to the uploading of the private images.
Found in his house were several computers, cell phones, and storage drives.
In those trying times, "The Hunger Games" star said she had her new dog to comfort her.
"I was outside crying, and Pippi jumped up on my lap and started licking up all my tears, and I couldn't put her down for hours. And I mean hours," she said.
Lawrence called the "2014 Celebrity photo hack", as what the media dubbed it, disgusting in an interview with Vanity Fair one month after the hacking. She also said that she was scared what will happen to her career because of it.
"It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting," Jennifer Lawrence said.
"The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That's why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody's mind is to make a profit from it. It's so beyond me. I just can't imagine being that detached from humanity. I can't imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside."
Jennifer Lawrence's leaked nude photos hit the internet in August last year and after that, other celebrities were also victimized. Among them are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco, Jill Scott.
