"Diamonds" singer Rihanna didn't like a song co-written by Adele and Sia? Are they having a feud? Well, not really.
In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Sia revealed that Rihanna recently rejected a song that she had co-written with Adele - but not for personal reasons.
"We wrote three songs in two days and none of them made the cut and this was one of them," Sia told Ryan Seacrest.
The song that reportedly didn't make it to Rihanna's forthcoming album was entitled "Alive."
"I said to (Adele), 'Do you mind if I pitch it to, say, Rihanna?'" Sia recounted. "And she said, 'Yeah, but can you take my vocal off it because I don't want my vocal floating around out there on a demo,'"
"So I went and re-cut the vocal and everybody in my life was like, 'You can't give this away to anybody,'" Sia added.
Asked if Rihanna didn't get the opportunity to actually consider the song for her new album, Sia said: "Well, actually I believe she did and she passed,"
In the end, Sia thought the song didn't really fit Rihanna's image.
"We sent it to her, but it's not really her so I don't know why I thought that," she said. "It is a smash, but she's a little more edgy,"
The "Chandelier" singer then decided to include "Alive" in her new album, "This Is Acting" set to be released on January 29.
Meanwhile, Rihanna's new album, "Anti" was supposed to be released on Nov. 6 but was postponed due to lots of big albums dropping this month, including Justin Bieber's "Purpose," One Direction's "Made in the A.M." and yes, Adele's "25."
This sends a message loud and clear - Rihanna doesn't want to start an album feud with Adele. And for good reason.
Since the surprise debut of Adele's new single, "Hello," she has been waging all kinds of wars in terms of her music. Just recently, Adele broke the record for most number of video streams in the first 24 hours on Youtube/Vevo for "Hello," taking the crown from Taylor Swift for her "Bad Blood" music video.
"My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I'm making up with myself. I'm making up for lost time," Adele said of her forthcoming album, "25."
Meanwhile, Rihanna's "Anti" album might be released next month, according to Billboard. The website also reported the singer is "currently struggling to pick her next single and canceled several commitments that had been lined up for promotional purposes."
