Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Felt Like A Schizo Filming ‘By The Sea’! ‘We Drive Each Other Mad’

After ten years, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reunite on the big screen with their upcoming film "By The Sea."

The movie is written and directed by the 40-year-old actress and they decided to shoot it during their honeymoon in Malta.

The "Maleficent" star admitted that they had problems filming the low-budget drama, but knowing each other for a long time helped them handle complex issues.

"It was kind of a message to each other that we are going to stick together whatever comes," she said as reported by The Telegraph.

"By The Sea" centers the story on a depressed former dancer and her novelist husband who has drinking problems. There were rumors coming out that the movie was based on the real relationship of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

However, the dark-haired beauty claimed that the story isn't autobiographical.

"Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems we couldn't have made the film," Angie explained.

"To be clear: we have fights and problems like any other couple. We have days when we drive each other absolutely mad and want space, but the problems in the movie aren't our specific problems," she added.

Jolie confessed that it was difficult for her to direct her own husband because he knows her well.

"These were very sensitive themes and I know Brad's triggers and what he can do and what he is thinking about so I had to step away and just be very careful in how he was directed," she said.

"I tried to give him a safe space and tell him to trust me and I would do my best to protect him in the editing room if he would be as open and give me as much of himself and his emotions and his honesty, and he did. I think he worked very hard," the actress added.

The Academy Award-winner also revealed that she had a hard time switching from an actress to a director.

"I was crazy Vanessa who is so broken and so weird and then when I said 'cut' I am not Vanessa, I am this other person who is a director and has all these very strong opinions and is nothing like her," Jolie said.

"I have to go over to his side of the room and talk to him, so it was schizophrenic for all of us."

Find out if all the hard work that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had put in "By The Sea" paid off on Nov. 13.
