After having the arguably shortest downward spiral in TV history, Major (Robert Buckley) finally broke down and asked help from his ex-fiance.
Mindful of turning him into a zombie again, however, Liv (Rose McIver) decided to limit their relationship to a friendly one.
Then again, according to previous "iZombie" season 2 spoilers, this arrangement will have its challenges in future episodes.
In episode five, the short-term druggie confessed to Liv that he wanted her back in his life, not just as a life coach but as his girlfriend once again.
Will they be able to make it work? Or will Liv's current undead state - not to mention the attitude whiplash - cause them problems?
"Now that they both know, and Major knows what he'd be getting into, we're toying with, could they try a romantic relationship in which no bodily fluids were exchanged?" executive producer Rob Thomas previously told TV Line in an interview.
"It's sort of a great existential question of, could you have a romantic partner with whom the sexual limits were very, very strict? How would that go? We may explore that."
On the other hand, recent "iZombie" season 2 spoilers also revealed that the brain-eating hero will have to reluctantly band together with her past arch nemesis, Blaine (David Anders), in order to recreate the cure that she used on him and Major in the first season.
According to McIver, the writers wrote the story "so cleverly and made it work in a way that Liv just completely needs [Blaine's help]."
Will she eventually end up relying on him romantically, too?
Thomas already promised viewers that they won't take that route yet thanks to Blaine's despicable behavior in the first season.
Despite admitting that Blaine could eventually become a sympathetic character in the near future, "for the immediate future, Blaine is bad."
Based on the recently aired episodes and "iZombie" season 2 spoilers, however, it seems that Blaine would most likely be linked to Liv's best friend, Peyton (Aly Michalka), and start a rivalry with Ravi (Rahul Kohli), instead.
