Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had split up almost two years ago, but their feelings for each other seem to never fade.
A few weeks ago, there were reports that the 23-year-old singer is still hoping to get married to the 21-year-old pop star.
"Selena freely admits that Justin is the love of her life, the official line is that she's just waiting for him to grow up and see sense before they get back together," an insider told OK! Magazine.
Justin may also feel the same because he revealed that most of his songs were about his ex-girlfriend and he even called her his "first real love."
The "What Do You Mean?" hitmaker also hinted that he hasn't moved on from the former Disney star.
"It was really tough. I don't know if I'm over it yet," he confessed to Access Hollywood. "I think that I'm definitely in another place and I think we've definitely went our separate ways. I love her and I want her to be awesome, but there are things that remind me of her."
Justin Bieber also revealed that there's an unreleased song about him and Selena Gomez. "Yeah, I wrote a song [that] didn't make the album, it was called 'If I Would Have Met You In 5 Years,'" the award-winning musician said.
"How true is that? How many people go through life and end up meeting someone and it feels so right, but it's just the wrong time? So many people can relate to that," he added.
The former YouTube sensation mentioned during his interview with Complex that he and the brunette beauty had lived in when they were still dating.
"I moved in with my girlfriend when I was 18. Started my own life with her. It was a marriage kind of thing," he explained. "Living with a girl, it was just too much at that age. But we were so in love. Nothing else mattered."
Despite the breakup, the former lovers still communicate and take care of each other.
"[She] is someone I love dearly. I'm never going to stop loving her. I'm never going to stop checking in on her," Bieber confessed.
"I don't think if you end a relationship, you should end that, unless it was super toxic and you guys were hurting each other physically or mentally," Justin explained. "We always respected each other and we still respect each other," he said.
Access Hollywood also asked Bieber if he's going to reunite with Gomez.
"I don't know what happens. I don't know what is going to happen in the future," he said. "I think we both gotta do some soul searching ourselves and figure out ourselves before we can just try to figure out each other."
